These two groups are at times in diametric opposition on some issues as they relate to the impending corporate take over of this country. What we are seeing is the death of the great DOOER corporate heads and FOUNDERS. This is the age of the WANABE. When the chief engineer was the CEO ( JACK NORTHRUP ) THINGS WERE DIFFERENT. The most important thing was the PROJECT. There was no interest in cheating the union out of $.15/hr when the future of company is at stake. These are the problems of the FOUNDERS the ENTREPRENEURS. The DOOERS.
Once a corporation and it's product line has matured and the innovator is moved down the corporate ststus chain. The stage is set for the take over of the WANABE and , they move in. When a WANABE moves in he populates the corporation with his ilk. All it takes is two or three WANABE CEOs and a corporation is trans formed. This is how IBM ends up with a under funded pension plan. Short sighted management responding to temporary slow downs in sales. The lust for money becomes paramount and you have a mess for some poor DOOER to clean up. This is what is coming for the United States of America , a mess for some future DOOER PRESIDENT and congress to clean up.

After reading about H. R. 1 and the position and status of the recipient, I can't see much of a future for any body in that program. If I am dependant on this years hot new cancer drug and a committee in my insurance company decides that this drug is costing too much. The insurance co. can just drop the drug from coverage. Too bad have a nice day. End of story I pay or die. This is the way of the " compassionate conservative ". The insurance companies are setting up The Boards of Euthanasia as I write this. By 2035 we will be dead and gone the yet to be borne's will be the largest group paying into SSA. The booming growth in housing, medical services, education and job seekers will have slowed. In order to keep this economy growing SENIORS must drive more of the spending in the 2035+ economy. The need is this, if we want to continue to provide a wide range of job opportunities for AMERICANS we will need strong domestic demand for AMERICAN made products. The consumer demand represented in Fig.1 will be leveled .
When the BOOMERS are removed from this chart the consumer market changes dramatically. Lets give the KIDS A BREAK and leave them with a strong United States of America. We must attain strength through SOLVENCY!!!
Patching the SSA Trust is the nobrainer. Assuring the continued growth and vitality of our economy during a period of transition from the BOOMER era to the EARLY post BOOMER generations is the hard job. I have been trying to work on an out line of what needs to be done.

For a new worker entering the work force and, living at home with his /her parents making extra deposits as savings would make for an comfortable retirement . When this worker moves up the pay scale increasing the weekly deposit and or making extra deposits will further increase the additional income provided by the " private plan "

In order for us older folks to take advantage of this system we would have to increase the amount of our initial deposits. As the baby fizzle of the, late 70's early 80's, moves to the workforce center stage, the spending power of the retied will be on the rise. To days pre-tweens will be entering the work force with their greater numbers and, will have spending support to maintain job growth. The pre-tweens will have at least a chance to establish themselves as an economic force. The number of seniors retiring to poverty should begin to approach 0 , because of the doubling of the safety net benefit. This plan has one goal to produce more customers. Also note the downward slope of the curve will be steeper . H. R. 3304 is another SSA destruction bill clear and simple. There can be no successful " welfare reform " if the minimum wage is so low that a woman can't pay for child care and feed herself and her kids. If General Fund monies are transferred to SSA that should place the SSA " on budget " ? Looks like Newt has moved on to the new DEBIT is good policy. There was a ten year (aprox) window to grow the SSA Trust while the number of beneficiaries drawing SSA benefits verses a large number paying into the SSA Trust. FDR saw this period as the time to raise the FICA tax to bring the SSA to PRE-FUNDED status. Hold on and remember that the method of interest compounding was very different then (DON'T USE POST 1974 METHODS ). This is where the problem began.

The PRESIDENTS current policies will do nothing to improve our standing in the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY with which we trade.
The child poverty rate will continue to rise as inflation eats the minimum wage earners alive.
