| There is nothing wrong with havingSOME money invested in stocks. Also one should have some money in bonds, real estate(RIETS), a 401K ( with range of asset classes and risk profiles on a per investment basis). The SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION Benefit was never intended to be the ULTIMATE high yield investment . It’s a safety net to prevent retirement destitution ( having absolutely nothing ).

| There are a number of AMERICANS who are about to retire this month and next month. The SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION was intended to be pre funded not pay as you go.
This is the reason for all the tax increases and problems with the BOOMERS. If the Republicans and a small group of greedy Democrats had left the system to run as FDR had intended there would have been no problems with the post WWII " sex a thon " That produced the BOOMERS.
This is a chart of the PROJECTED cash flows for the 75 year valuation period.
Note 2034 is the year that half the BOOMERS will be gone from the SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION benefit system ( dead ). At this point the cash flow turns positive for the duration of the valuation period.
The obvious solution is to keep the SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION Trust in the black through 2034 at which time the system comes back into balance .

But there is more work to do. We need to build on the results of the 1996 reforms
and continue to move welfare recipients into jobs and off the welfare rolls. This is
especially important for single women and mothers, who continue to rely on welfare and
fear that they cannot find a job or enter a training program because they need to care for
their children.
We endorse President Bush’s plan to extend the benefits of welfare reform by
strengthening work requirements and promoting healthy marriages, and offering training,
transportation, and child care services to help people become self-sufficient. Every
American deserves a chance to know the pride of earning a paycheck and providing for
his or her family.

| You forgot one important fact the citizens of the United States of America will in 10 to 15 years will begin holding more of our own debit than China we the people will be investing in the United States of America we will be making money on the debit the LOONS ON THE HILL are running up. All AMERICANS will benefit from this proposed plan. In 60 years the first of today's new born's will start drawing benefits. | what galls me is the fact that these people won't be part of our country they don't pay the FICA tax they won't pay much in the way of sales taxes they will be just things that will be shuffled in and out of the country as needed. Much of the money they earn will go south of the border when they leave. Corporations like HALLIBURTON WILL BE ABLE TO RECRUIT A WHOLE CREW IN MEXICO and bring them to the United States of America to start and finish a contract no need to hire those high dollar AMERICANS. Just think what happens when a new freeway is built and 80% of the construction crew is from Mexico??? What happens when a office building is built and there is only a few dozen AMERICAN construction workers on the job. Why do this except to temporarily enrich the large corporations of AMERICA. | |
